The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is improving safety and operations on U.S. 192 (West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway/West Vine Street/State Road 530) from Bamboo Lane to Main Street in Kissimmee. This project will repave and re-stripe 5.7 miles of the existing roadway to provide 11-foot-wide travel lanes and a 7-foot-wide buffered bicycle lane in both directions of U.S. 192 from east of Bamboo Lane to Hoagland Boulevard. Additionally, the westbound left turn lane onto southbound Oren Brown Road will be extended.

Pedestrian enhancements include new signalized crossing opportunities at Oren Brown Road, Interior Street, and south of Four Winds Boulevard. At Interior Street, the project will add pedestrian activated signals and reconstruct the existing bi-directional median. The crossing near Four Winds Boulevard will be equipped with a new Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB), and a there will be a new traffic signal, pedestrian signals, and crosswalks installed at Oren Brown Road. PHBs are pedestrian activated overhead signals that stop traffic to allow people to cross the road safely. Additional improvements include pedestrian curb ramp upgrades and sidewalk connections at Yates Road and Mann Street.
