About
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will make improvements to State Road (S.R.) 326 from Northwest 12th Avenue to S.R. 40 near Marion County. The purpose of the project is to extend the life of the existing roadway through milling and resurfacing all primary and secondary travel lanes.
Construction improvements include replacing mailboxes, installing asphalt aprons at various locations, paving side street connections, and reconstructing driveways. The project will also replace signage as needed and add new pavement markings.
An eastbound to northbound left turn lane will be added at Northeast 49th Street. At Northeast 40th Avenue Road, an eastbound to southbound right turn lane and a westbound to southbound left turn lane will be added. A new signal will be installed at the Northeast 25th Avenue and Northeast 36th Avenue intersections. New signal heads will allow for protected left turns at the Northeast 58th Avenue intersection.
WHAT TO EXPECT: During construction, motorists should expect lane closures and detours on weekdays and weekends. Electronic message boards and other signage will be used to direct traffic through the work zone. Uneven pavement is a common condition with projects that require temporary asphalt pavement or resurfacing, as the contractor must put down different layers of asphalt during various phases of construction. Motorists are asked to exercise caution and reduce their speed while driving through the work zone. The construction schedule may change due to weather or other unexpected conditions.
