The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will be clearing vegetation, debris, and other materials within the right-of-way along Ellis Road (St. Johns Heritage Parkway) from west of John Rodes Boulevard to west of Wickham Road in Melbourne and West Melbourne.

Erosion control measures will be implemented, and once clearing and grubbing are complete, performance turf will be installed. This project serves as preparation for upcoming utility construction and relocation activities related to the Ellis Road widening project (426905-4), which is scheduled to begin in spring 2026.

The project is being completed through a partnership with Brevard County, the cities of Melbourne and West Melbourne, the Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (SCTPO) and Melbourne International Airport.
