LONGWOOD, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) advises motorists of an upcoming closure at the North Street railroad crossing west of State Road (S.R.) 427 (Ronald Reagan Boulevard) in Longwood. This complete closure is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 through 4:30 am on Monday, Nov. 10, so that SunRail railroad crossing improvements can be made.

Detour Information:

• Motorists wishing to access North Street from S.R. 427 should continue north, then take a left onto S.R. 434, and head west.  At Florida Central Parkway, drivers will take a left and then turn left on Bennett Drive to return to North Street.
• Motorists traveling east on North Street wishing to access S.R. 427 should turn left on Bennett Drive, then turn right on Florida Central Parkway and arrive at S.R. 434.  Drivers should take a right on S.R. 434 and head east until they arrive at S.R. 427.  

Pedestrian access will be limited as the sidewalks will be closed in the work area.

During the railroad crossing work, motorists should remain alert, follow the detour signs, and expect delays in the area.  The work schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
