Traffic Advisory: New Traffic Signal Installed at U.S. 301 and SE 147th Street in Summerfield
MARION COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has installed a new traffic signal at the U.S. 301 and Southeast 147th Street intersection in Summerfield.
The signal is operating in flash mode and is expected to become fully operational within the coming weeks.
Drivers on U.S. 301 will encounter a yellow flashing light, which serves as a temporary alert to help motorists notice and adjust to the new signal before it is fully activated with red, yellow, and green lights. While the signal is flashing yellow, drivers should remain alert and proceed with caution.
Drivers on Southeast 147th Street will encounter a red flashing light requiring them to stop. Once fully activated, the signal is intended to enhance safety by managing traffic flow at the intersection and reducing the risk of crashes.
Work on this project is expected to be completed summer 2025. Construction schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
