COCOA, Fla. – A new traffic signal has been activated and is now fully operational at the intersection of U.S. 1 (State Road (S.R.) 5 / North Cocoa Boulevard) and Cidco Road in Brevard County. The signal is designed to enhance both traffic flow and safety in the area.

Last October, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) began construction at this busy intersection near State Road (S.R. 528) in Cocoa. In addition to adding a new traffic signal, other improvements include resurfacing the roadway, updating curb ramps and crosswalks, and adding new pavement markings.

While the new signal enhances traffic management, the project is still ongoing and is expected to be completed spring 2025. However, please note that construction schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.

Motorists are encouraged to stay alert and reduce their speed when approaching the intersection, as both drivers and pedestrians adjust to the new signal.
